EMBEZZEMENT ON SOLDIERS’ WELFARE AND OPERATION ALLOWANCES IN THE BATTALION.
Sir, our newly posted CO of 81 DIV TF BN ( Lt Col GE ASEMOTA) has turn our welfare and allowances to be his own pocket money.
NA sent signal on January 2020 that they would be giving the soldiers of Op lafiya dole #200 daily as ciggerate allowance. To our greatest surprise our CO refused to pay us our own ciggerate allowance of January and february . The only money he paid is the 12000 welfare given to us by COAS. Other battalions under the theatre Op lafiya dole have already paid their soldiers 24000 including the 12000 of COAS.
Sir, the previous COs used to convey the soldiers on pass to maiduguri and when the pass expires they would send vehicles again with escort to go and bring the soldiers back to camp, but the painful part of it is that Lt Col Asemota has refused to be sending vehicles and escort to go to maiduguri and bring in the soldiers returning from pass where he know how dangerous the road is to the soldiers. He said the way and manner you enter civilians vehicle to the camp is none of his business and any soldier that fail to return to camp with civilians vehicle on the expiration of his pass , that he will deduct 800 pay day from his money.
Sir, could you believe that he deducted 800 800 from each soldiers that returned from pass last time from the 12000 given to us by COAS which some soldiers refused to collect the remaining of the money till now.
sir, right before the increment of Op allowances , our previous COs used to give us looking good at the end of every month (1pack of sugar, 12sachets of chocolate and 12eggs), immediately Lt Col GE Asemota took over command he said he is not going to give us any looking good again that its costly.
Sir, we write to you becauss we soldiers of 81 DIV TF BN SUPER CAMP 9 are passing through pains in the hand of Lt Col GE Asemota.
Sir, we don’t go town pass anymore and it took each soldier 7-8 months before going to normal pass.
Sir, we 81DIV TF BN SUPER CAMP 9 in Dikwa Local Government area Borno state will be happy and our low morale will be hightly motivated if you look into our pains and treat accordingly.
