Covid-19: No Health Worker Earns N5000- Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo- Olu has debunked the rumour that health workers earn N5000 as allowance. He disclosed this during a televised media briefing on COVID-19 updates in Lagos monitored by MarbaysTV correspondent.
“It is not true and i repeat nobody in our frontline that is on covid-19 list or probably be treating a patient that has earned anything around N5000 the least person i dare say earns N20,000 and infact we have doubled that. The governor further explained that the last allowance drivers earned is between N40,000 and N60,000
” so its not true”
The governor said he has plans to increase the salaries of health workers in the state.
“However because i have also increased their workload this month there is a plan that I will increase their individual allowances for this month for every of our entire health workers irrespective of  if you are on the frontline of Covid-19 or just treating someone that has malaria or a cut in his leg”.
He also urged Muslim faithful in the state to obey social distancing during their month of fasting, Ramadan.
“As we prepare to observe Ramadan, let us continue to obey the laws of the land. Any gathering of people numbering above 25 is not acceptable,” he added.
