On April 28th and 29th this year, The Momentous Magazine will be in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire for the 2022 Festival of Environmental Images for Sustainable Development, FIEDD, an international event that focuses on civic, artistic, and tourist activities geared towards a better African environment.
Momentous will be going as a media partner selected by The Ivorian Network of Communicators for the Environment and Sustainable Development, RICED, organizers of the two-day event.
RICED said it was pleased to invite The Momentous, having been satisfied with its professional ways of handling and covering events. “We will be very happy to welcome you as one of our image makers”, reads, the invitation letter in part.
Commenting on the special invitation, the Publisher, Momentous Magazine, Mr. Sesan Awobiye, said the invitation further proves that The Momentous remains an organization to reckon with when it comes to media coverage and image making, among other works.
He reiterated that the media outfit would continue to be professional and responsible in its discharge of duties.
The publisher thanked the organizers for the confidence reposed in it.
The FIEDD activities are meant to create awareness and education for sustainable development across the West African nations.
According to the organizers, the festival activities, which border on communication, include music, photography, drawings and paintings, documentaries, film, theaters, general knowledge amongst others.
Other programmes set aside for the event are a forum on coastal degradation and restoration, an exhibition of photography, arts and crafts, a show, visits to tourist sites.
Djah Koffi Sylvain, president, RICED, said Nigeria would be the country in the spotlight through its actors, operators and personalities. He added that as part of plan for the event, Corine Hazoume, a.k.a Great Lady of African culture, will be visiting Lagos, Nigeria, by the end of January to meet some Nigerian operators and personalities to relate with them regarding the ecological summit-cum-festival.
The Ivory Coast Ministry of the Environment, official partner of the event commended RICED for being able to sustain the developmental initiative over the years; and also encouraged the organisation not to relent as the ministry is ready to support them.
Delegations From Colombia, Nigeria and Guinea, high Sweden, Mali, Guinea, and France,Personalities are expected at this great ecological-cultural gathering.are also expected to grace the two-day event.
