NASSEBA TOURE CELEBRATES WOMEN IN ARTS, SPORTS AND CULTURE.
The International Women’s Day of Arts and Entertainment for the rights of Ivorian women organized by the Ministry of Women, Family and Children was held on March 7, 2022 at the Rotonde of Arts au Plateau in Abidjan in Côte of ivory.
The guests were treated to a show that retraced the women’s march on Grand-Bassam in December 1949 to ask the release of political leaders imprisoned by the colonial authorities. Dances, songs and drama on women’s rights filled the evening. The Queens who hold traditional power received a standing ovation. Madam Minister for Women, Family and Children Nasseneba TOURE indicated that the International Women’s Day of Arts and Culture for women’s rights is an innovation. She paid tribute to the pioneers of Arts and entertainment who contributed to the influence of Côte d’Ivoire and she congratulated the women of culture who put the Ivorian flag on top. A guided tour of the exhibition of Corine Hazoumé, founder of the cultural label CerAfrique was made and the Minister offered gifts to her privileged guests. The ceremony ended with a cocktail.
