(STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS 20TH INVESTITURE)LASG ENCOURAGES NIGERIA TO WORK WITH MULTI NATIONAL COMPANY

The Lagos State Government has encouraged Nigeria Engineers to ensure they work in partnership with multi national company in order to acquire more experience as projects that government awarded to contractors are highly sensitive.
The Permanent Secretary for Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructurr,Engineer Olujimi Nunayo Hotonu disclosed this on Thursday,during his address with Newsmen at the 20th Investiture ceremony of the Nigeria Institution of Structural Engineers held at the College hall Yaba tech,that the Lagos State Government has made it its concern to eradicate things involving the collapse building in the state and would not take it for granted.
Hotonu stated that this was the main reasons why some Agencies like LABCA,Lagos State Safety Commission and Lagos Material Testing Laboratory were created to ensure safety in our society and engaged highly experienced Engineers in the State. He thereby congratulated and felicitated with the newly 20th emerged President of the Nigeria Institution of Structural Engineers,Engr. Dr. Kehinde Osifala for his worthy Ambassadorship and described how great is his success to be identified with in contributing to the works in Lagos state government having been interacted with in the last one year.
The Rector of Yaba College of Technology,Engr.Femi Omokhugbe congratulated the new President on his investiture ceremony and described him as the Alumni of Yaba college who he has confidence in him to deliver great contributions and thereby pledged to continue to support him in his tenure as President of the Structural Engineers because the Engineers knew he cannot do it alone. He stressed further that the reason of the engineers Advocacy that the Institution did was mainly to address the issue of quackery among engineers and reduce series of building collapse in Nigeria.
The HRM. Oba (ENGR)Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye ,the Elegboro of Egboro Land,Ijebu Jesa Osun State , rained his Blessings on the new President of the engineers and reminded him that what he left behind as a leader at this unit would say much about him. He urged also to ensure to build quality engineers and allow the young people to be involved in the practices to grow well at his time.
The newly 20th emerged President Engr. Dr. Kehinde Osifala expressed his joy over the power conferred on him as the President in the Institution and unveiled the 12 newly inductees in the Institution also taking it as a call to service. He said ” I am very much prepared to render all possible service that I have at my disposal to the institution so that at the end of my tenure I can have something to show as my achievements”.
He revealed that the group advocacy projects was to let people know the engineers to give solutions to their problems,organise trainings for members to re update them knowledge wise.
” we are calling on COREN the Agency of government to establish laws towards good practices among engineers even for regulations. He however added that among other engineers that integrity and competence is important in the profession.
