Advancing Women’s Empowerment: A Collaborative Vision Under the AU Agenda 2063
As the Vice Chairperson of the Women and Gender Committee within the AU Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, I am honored to spearhead initiatives aimed at uplifting African women. Our upcoming Women’s Empowerment Event on March 29, 2025, in Lagos, is a testament to our commitment to this cause. This event aims to empower 300 women, including market vendors, street entrepreneurs, and small-scale business owners, by providing them with essential skills and resources to thrive.
Our Vision for March 29, 2025
This event is more than a gathering; it’s a movement to transform lives. Our comprehensive program includes:
• Entrepreneurial Training & Skill Development: Equipping participants with the knowledge to innovate and succeed in their ventures.
• Financial Literacy Sessions: Empowering women to make informed financial decisions for sustainable growth.
• Health Screenings: Offering free health checks, including cancer screenings, to ensure the well-being of our participants.
• Business Startup Support: Providing resources and guidance to kickstart or expand their businesses.
Collaborative Efforts with AU Agenda 2063 Committees
Achieving the ambitious goals of Agenda 2063 requires a united approach. I am committed to collaborating with various committees within the AU Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly to ensure the success of our initiatives:
• Trade and Investment Committee: Working closely with the Chairperson to open new markets and opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
• Education and Mass Literacy Committee: Partnering with the Chairperson to promote educational programs that enhance women’s literacy and learning opportunities.
• Tourism Committee: Collaborating with the Chairperson to explore tourism ventures that can economically empower women.
• Media and Communications Committee: Joining forces with the Chairperson to amplify women’s voices and share their success stories.
• Finance Committee: Teaming up with the Chairperson to secure funding and financial resources for women’s initiatives.
