Tinubu Ally Dies
Adeniyi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, represented Ekiti South Senatorial District in the Senate between 2011 and 2015.
He was also active in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and worked closely with political structures linked to President Tinubu, especially in the South-West.
The South West Agenda for Asiwaju, a political support group for President Bola Tinubu, also confirmed his death.
Adeniyi served as the Ekiti State chairman of the group and remained active in mobilising support for President Tinubu during the 2023 general election.
The governor also said the late senator served his district well in the National Assembly, where he took part in debates and efforts on constitutional reforms, electoral changes, judicial independence, improved telecom services, and policies aimed at economic growth and investment attraction.
Oyebanji noted that Adeniyi had a strong legal background, having served as chairman of the Akure branch of the Nigerian Bar Association and later as a member of the association’s national executive.
He also chaired the board of the defunct Omega Bank during his career in the private sector.
He described him as a man who lived a life of service and left behind a record of commitment to Ekiti S
tate and Nigeria.
