Olori Janet Afolabi has expressed profound gratitude to God for the privilege and opportunity to once again extend a helping hand to vulnerable members of her community through her Food Bank initiative, reaffirming her commitment to fighting hunger and supporting families in need.
The outreach, which benefited a large number of women and children, was designed to provide essential food items to households facing economic challenges. The initiative reflects Olori Afolabi’s unwavering passion for humanitarian service and her belief that access to food is a basic necessity that should never be denied to anyone, especially children.
Speaking after the distribution exercise, Olori Janet Afolabi emphasized the importance of caring for the less privileged, stressing that no child should be forced to endure the pain of hunger.
“No child should go to bed hungry. No child should remain awake because hunger has made him or her unable to sleep,” she said, calling for greater compassion and collective efforts to support vulnerable families within society.
The event concluded on a spiritually uplifting note as 31 men of God paid a courtesy visit to the palace, a visit that coincided with the Food Bank programme.

While delivering her closing remarks, a palace staff member informed her that a bishop was waiting outside despite the heavy rainfall. Demonstrating her characteristic warmth and hospitality, Olori Afolabi immediately instructed that the cleric be ushered into the hall.
The visiting cleric was the Rt. Revd. Oluwagbemiro Fabuluje, Bishop of Oke Osun Anglican Diocese, whom Olori Janet Afolabi was meeting for the first time. He was accompanied by 30 other reverends, making the visit a remarkable and memorable moment.

In recognition of their presence, Olori Afolabi paused her speech to warmly acknowledge and welcome the clergymen, expressing appreciation for their visit and the prayers they offered for the palace, the community, and the success of the humanitarian initiative.

The Food Bank outreach once again underscored Olori Janet Afolabi’s enduring commitment to humanitarian service, community development, and the promotion of compassion, while the unexpected gathering of Christian leaders added a unique spiritual dimension to an event dedicated to restoring hope and improving lives.
