REPORT CARD
About 2,278 terrorists and bandits have been killed in the last 10 months. In the northeast 864 kidnapped victims have been rescued. In the northwest 5,281 livestock, 6,951 rounds of ammunition and 120 assorted rifles were recovered from armed bandits.
In the last 14 days alone 300 Boko Haram insurgents have been killed. The Nigerian Air Force have killed more Boko Haram commanders and destroyed gun trucks.
A total of N6,365,550 was also recovered from armed bandits and their informants. A total of 46,581 barrels of stolen crude oil and 22,881,257 litres of stolen PMS were recovered.
The Nigerian military has during this period embarked on Nigeria’s biggest re-armament and modernization program on a scale that far eclipsed the Shagari era. Twenty two new aircrafts have been delivered with dozens more pending delivery in the coming months.
The Army has inducted what is largely considered the most sophisticated Main Battle Tank in Africa at the moment the Norinco VT-4 MBT, SH-1 Tank Destroyers and SH-105 wheeled self propelled artillery gun system. The Navy has received several attack/patrol vessels.
