BARR. ESTHER UZOMA: WE HAVE LOST A CHANGE AGENT, A VOICE OF THE VOICELESS (IPAC)
INTER PARTY ADVISORY COUNCIL (IPAC)
NATIONAL SECRETARIAT. ABUJA
The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) received with deep sorrow and pains the news of the demise of foremost civil society activist and attorney, Esther Uzoma.
She was a woman of substance, dignity, integrity and nobility with exceptional passion for the enthronement of genuine democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
A voice of the voiceless, Esther Uzoma was an embodiment of patriotism, a fearless advocate for inclusion of women in governance, who waged war against gender-based violence and championed for the conduct of inclusive, free, fair, credible, transparent and peaceful elections in Nigeria and also monitored the polls.
Her death at this crucial period her activism is needed is a big blow to civil society organizations and all lovers of democratic governance.
Our heart goes out to members of her family and all those affected by her departure. We pray to God Almighty to console, comfort and strengthen them in this period of bereavement.
Although she died young, we take solace in the fact that she touched numerous lives and contributed immensely in deepening democratic rule in Nigeria as an advocate, activist and philanthropist.
May her patriotic soul rest in peace.
Ambassador Agbo Major
National Publicity Secretary, IPAC
