The Leader of the newly inaugurated eleven man Executives, Youth Wing, of Akwa Ibom State Community, AKISCOM, in Lagos State, Otuekong Uwemobong Nsungo has extended an olive branch to the estranged and aggrieved members of the Youth Wing of the Organisation to sheathe their swords and be open for true reconciliation and reunification, so that Wing would move forward and achieve great successes.

Obong Nsungo made this call clarion
while delivering his inaugural speech shortly after the team was inaugurated in Lagos. He prayed to the Almighty God for wisdom, grace and enablement to effectively and efficiently bear the mantle of leadership of the Wing handed over to him, while he called on his fellow Executives, to tag along with him in the task ahead of them.

From the previous records, since 2015, the Youth Wing have done remarkably well, he however noted that he would like to build on the existing legacies of his Predecessors whom he eulogized for their selfless contributions and invaluable services which have led to the growth of the Youth Wing, over the years.

Otuekong Uwem Nsungo pledged to discharge his duties in consideration of the advice from his fellow Executives, by joining hands with all the Community Stakeholders, to create and bequeath a Youth Wing that would be better than what they met. While assuring the members, of his full commitment to deploying hoth his time and resources to the task of making a remarkable difference in the lives of the Youths and other member of AKISCOM, for the desired positive change.

On his Agenda are top issues like aggressive membership drives, unity and inclusivity, youth empowerment and welfare, all listed as his cardinal focal points to tackle. Also listed here are what he refers to as, collaborative leadership, Community engagements, partnership and alliance with the State’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Community Leaders as well as effort towards boosting human capital development for the members.
Hence, appealing for inclusivity of all aggrieved members for the overalls progress and growth of the Wing.

The current AKISCOM President, Lagos State Chapter, Chief Edet Ambang phd, congratulated the Inaugurated Eleven Man Executives for the great success recorded. He charged them to go out and mobilize more A’ Ibom residents in all the LGAs of Lagos State and bring them into the fold.

Chief Ambang urged the Youth Executives to bring all Akwa Ibom indigens together because, soon there would be some laudable Programmes and schemes which would be unveiled for the benefit of the indigens in Lagos, especially the Youths. Speaking on the challenges facing his administration, the AKISCOM President explained that paucity of funds, which is the main challenge because no grants nor allocations were awarded from the Government, thus leaving the Administration with only the proceeds from dues and levies, which he noted , are very meagre yet there are numerous programmes begging for attention for execution, in the life span of AKISCOM.

Speaking further, He however made a passionate call on the Akwa Ibom State Government, through the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, whom he acknowledged as having been doing so well in the State, to also replicate and extend those kind gestures to AKISCOM in Lagos State.

Chief Ambang also noted that, such magnanimous intervention would go a long way in helping his Administration, expedite the implementation of programmes on time, for the benefit of Akwa Ibomites in Lagos. In his fatherly advice to the Youths, the former President of AKISCOM and presently the Chairman Board of its Trustees, the Canopy of Ikot Ekpene, Obong Elijah Ifot also corroborated the stance of Chief Ambang, by calling on the Youth Executives to realise that Akwa Ibom State has thirty one Local Government Areas and as such AKISCOM supposed to have at least, five to six members from each of the LGAs represented in Lagos.

He added that, with Chief Ambangs leadership, which he trusted so much that the Wing would be able to perform creditably. Obong Ifot advised the youths not to always wait until they are invited even at Government occasions, but should always approach the System and be recognized. Commenting on the present administration of AKISCOM, the Canopy Ikot Ekpene, said he would not like to compare the former with the present administration, but his legacies will only speak for him.

Moreover, he said as far as he is concerned, he was not quite impressed with the performance of the his immediate Successor, hence, his full support to the present administration of Chief Ambang, whom he gives a thump up for having made a remarkable impacts so far, thus believing that if he continues in this strides, he will achieve a lot more. The BOT Chairman however poured out his fatherly blessings on the members of the new Executives and other members present at the occasion.

Awards of Excellence were presented to great and notable Patrons and Sponsors of the Youth Wing. The eleven man Executives comprises of Mr Uwemobong Nsungo as the Youth Leader, Mr Joseph Osom as the Deputy Youth Leader while Mr Inemesit Udoh as the the General Secretary. Others include; Mr Maurice Adiaka, Assistant Secretary, Mr Friday Andrew as the Financial Secretary, Mr Ben Eto as Assistant Financial Secretary while the Post of a Treasurer went to Mrs Praise Ekaette.

In addition, Mr Milton Idang, Public Relations Officer, Mrs Alice Umoh as Social Officer, Mr Pius Obot as a Welfare officer while the post of the Provost was given to Mr Eyo Mkpesit.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by a one time Youth Leader, Obong Brian Effah and was graced by former Vice President, Barrister Silas Udoh, Mr Walter Adiakpan, Amb Cornell Udofia former Public Relations officer of the youth wing who flew into Lagos that morning to honour his people.

Amb Cornel Udofia was recently Appointed SSA Media and Spokeman to the National President of The Actors Guild of Nigeria Dr. Emeka Rollas Ejezie MON, who threw his weight behing the Inauguration by inviting News Central TV crew , Radio Nigeria, Super Screen TV, Momentous Magazine, The Sun Newspaper and The CMC Gladiators Magazine to cover the epoch making Event.

Ambassador Udofia, also advised the youth to do away with African time syndrome as it’s affect the productivity and many power development of the society. He further pledged to support them with his esteemed presence and Media promotions after receiving his award for Excellence which was jointly presented by the youth and woman Leader respectively.

Many top sons and daughters of the soil like AKISCOMs Women Leader, Mrs Ekaette Stephen, Top Aviation consultant and former Public Relations officer of the Guild, Obong Kendy Aduak, Convener of impact initiative award and Yabatech Radio host, Comrade victor Cletus Mfon, Nollywood Actress Amarach Ani, Beautiful and Calm Publisher of Beauty and Fashion magazine Christy Butler, Publisher of Momentous Magazine Sesen Segun, Former Treasurer of Akiscom youth and Networking Marketer Akparawan Abigail Asuwuo, Akpan Annang Comic Actors and host of the Group Leaders in various locations across Lagos State graced the occasion.

Pledges and handsome donations were made as start off funds for the new Executives to hit the ground and run with its agenda and mandates.
Different delicacies of Akwa Ibom state were showcase and the youths actually proved themselves to be the Leaders of Tomorrow by maintaining Peace and orderliness during the 5 hrs event.
