Bianсa Saunders Champions Collaboration and Authenticity at GTCO Fashion Weekend 2025

Renowned British-Jamaican designer Bianca Saunders delivered an inspiring message on creativity, collaboration, and authenticity during her masterclass session at the GTCO Fashion Weekend 2025 in Lagos. Speaking to a captivated audience, the London-based designer shared how digital platforms helped launch her career and underscored the power of staying true to one’s creative voice while embracing global influences.

When asked about her early beginnings, Saunders credited the internet for providing the entry point that helped her connect and grow her fashion brand.
“Definitely the internet,” she said. “When I first started my brand, I used Instagram, Facebook, and other social media channels to connect. That really brought people closer to me, and there’s this thing, if you do something for someone, they connect you to someone else so it was really helpful in my ambitions.”

The interviewer reflected on her response, noting that Saunders highlighted “the power of collaboration, being able to be as ready as possible and get the best out of those collaborations.”
Moving further into the discussion, Saunders was asked about scaling creativity and how she measures success while remaining authentic to her brand identity.
“My next question is really about scaling creativity,” the interviewer said. “What does good look like for a designer who is intentional about authenticity? Because you can measure success with money and that’s great but when you talk about being authentic to your brand, that’s something that stood out for me when we talk about you. So in that light, how do you measure success when you know you’re still being authentic not trading your ideas for what the person you’re collaborating with wants?”
Saunders replied thoughtfully:
“I guess even me being here is something I really wanted to see that I have been accepting different cultures.”
Her response reflects her approach to design, which blends classic British tailoring with Caribbean heritage, creating a narrative that celebrates multicultural expression.

Bianca Saunders’ presence at GTCO Fashion Weekend 2025 reinforces the event’s reputation as a dynamic platform for global fashion exchange connecting established creatives with emerging designers and audiences passionate about innovation in African and international fashion.
