Chief Ike Aguanunu Honoured with IKENGA Title at Umuoji Centenary Celebration
The Umuoji Improvement Union, Nigeria (UIUN) marked a historic milestone with its Centenary Celebration of UIUN (1926–2026) and Awards, held on Sunday, 5th April 2026 at 12 noon at the Chief Silas Onyima Memorial Stadium, Umuoji, Anambra State.
The grand event, organized under the distinguished chairmanship of Chief Arinze A. Obiefuna, Esq (Ichie Nwakibie), brought together notable sons and daughters of Umuoji, dignitaries, and community leaders to celebrate a century of unity, progress, and development.
Among the high points of the ceremony was the conferment of the prestigious title IKENGA Umuoji on Chief Ike Aguanunu, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, service, and immense contributions to the community.
Special Guest of Honour at the event was Hon. Uche Harris Okonkwo (Ebubeagu), while the occasion also featured key personalities including:
Chief (Dr.) Chris Nnedu (Odezuligbo) – The Regent of Umuoji
Chief Ifeanyi Muoemenam (Chinechendo) – President General, UIUN

In a heartfelt message, the family of Barr. Eric Ikwele extended warm congratulations to Chief Ike Aguanunu, stating:
