Harps on synergy and inter-agency collaboration…

The MILITARY POLICE PARAMILITARY PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICERS FORUM ( MILPOPPROF ), is a Forum, which constitutes the Public Relations Officers, of the military services, Police and Paramilitary Military organisations, in the country, amongst others. It is registered under a Non – Governmental Organization called PEAcrEc ( Peace and Conflict Resolution Resource Centre). The Forum has existed, over a decade and it has its chapters, in different states, of the nation. The forum was established as a result, if the forthright foresight of the veteran Public Relations Officers, of the Military and the Nigeria Police Force, in some years ago as a panacea, to solving inter – agency rivalry and unprofessional conducts amongst officers and men, amidst others, just to mention a few.

MILPOPPROF is also mainly, focused on achieving synergy in Security Communications amongst Security, Emergency Response and Regulatory Agencies while promoting Espirit de Corps for National Security. The newly inaugurated executives, of the Lagos Chapter, of the Forum set, out, on Friday 9th, April, 2021, to pursure, with fresh vigour and zeal, the motives and visions, of its founding veterans, in Lagos State, as briefly highlighted above.

The new executives of MILPOPPROF Lagos Chapter, led by the Chief Facilitator, Route Commander OLABISI SONUSI ( PRO FRSC LAGOS ), with some other executive members from various Agencies, visited the different Heads of Security Agencies at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport ( MMIA), in Lagos. The Offices and Heads visited include : Nigeria Immigration Service( NIS – CIS AA Dalhatu ), Nigeria Customs Service ( NCS – Comptroller ably, represented by DC Turaki U A ), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA – Mr. Ahmadu Garba, Commander/JAIT and Mr. Ralph N. Igwenagu ), both the Airport ( MMIA) Command Office and the Lagos State Command Office, respectively. Additionally, the executives visited the office of the Police Public Relations Officer Lagos State Command, CSP MUYIWA ADEJOBI, to also pay homage.

The Chief Facilitator, Route Commander OLABISI SONUSI (PRO Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) LAGOS), solicited for the support and collaboration, of the Heads of Agencies visited, at the Airport ( MMIA), to ensure the release, of their PROs, for meetings, symposia, workshops, fora and trainings, so that we can have quality and vehement synergy amongst Security Service s and Agencies, in the state and the nation at large. “We must pursue a collective role, to stem the tide of insecurity in the nation, in our own little way, she said.”

In addition the efforts of the Forum was lauded by the various Heads of Security Agencies visited and they agreed to give the Forum the required support and collaboration it needed. They wish that the Forum gets stronger and better, by the day.

(PRO NIGERIA SECURITY AND CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS, NSCDC LAGOS STATE COMMAND, ASSISTANT SECRETARY MILPOPPROF), Mrs. Odetola Funmi PEAcrEc, ( Project Coordinator MILPOPPROF), Job Blessing ( PRO MMIA COMMAND LAGOS, NDLEA, MEMBER MILPOPPROF) and Mr.
Henry Agunyi ( PRO NDLEA Lagos State Command, Ex-officio MILPOPPROF)
