…as CP FCT commemorates with Christians, calls for peace and unity.

The FCT Police Command has deployed combat-ready personnel and equipment to various churches and recreational areas within the Federal Capital Territory for robust security coverage of the territory, in anticipation of the 2025 Easter celebration.

The deployment is a proactive measure aimed at complementing conventional policing efforts in ensuring the safety of worshippers and fun-seekers during the holiday. It includes visibility policing, strategic positioning of intelligence assets, vehicular and foot patrols, and monitoring operations designed to swiftly detect and deter criminal activity.
Additionally, the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams will be conducting sweeps of parks and other major recreational gathering points to forestall any security threats or breach.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, while commemorating with Christian faithful across the Federal Capital Territory, enjoined residents to use the Easter season—a time of solemn reflection and prayer—as an opportunity to promote peace and unity. He emphasized the need for all to shun crime and criminality, and called on religious leaders to preach peaceful coexistence and tolerance.

The Commissioner of Police reassures the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all residents of the FCT before, during, and after the celebrations. He also appealed for maximum cooperation with the Police and other security agencies, while urging residents to remain vigilant and law abiding.
