Grassroot Governance: Folayan Urges LG Political Office Holders To Be Candid With Code Of Conduct Forms.
Council Chairmen and all Political Office Holders in the sixteen Local Government Areas of Ekiti State have been charged to be faithful in
information they fill in their Code of Conduct Forms.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Prof. Adio Folayan gave the charge at a Public Enlightenment Workshop organized by the Ministry for Local Government Political Officer
Holders.
The workshop with the theme ‘How to Fill Code of Conduct Bureau Form
(CCBOI)’ was organized in conjunction with the Code of Conduct Bureau in Ado-Ekiti.
Prof. Adio Folayan who spoke through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Sola Ogunmiluyi advised Political Officer Holders to
guide against anticipatory declaration or inaccuracy in their
declaration of assets while filling the forms in order not to breach
the Law.
He said to avert any untoward consequences for Local Government
elected officials during and after their tenure of office, and advised
them to use the opportunity so that they would be in right standing
with the tenets and expectation of extant legislation.
Responding, one of the participants, who is also the chairman of lkole Local Government, Mr. Sola Olominu thanked the State Government for Organizing such informative and eye-opening programme, with the
promised that participants will surely make use of the knowledge
gained at the workshop.
