The event, marked by speeches of gratitude and admiration, was a testament to the hard work and dedication that Princess Bada has shown in her leadership role.

A Ceremony of Recognition

The ceremony was graced by prominent figures from the G6 Diaspora, a collective organization that brings together the voices and leaders of several West African countries, including Benin, Ghana, Togo, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire. Attending the event were Ambassador of G6, the Coordinator of G6, Chairman of Campaign and General Meetings Alhaji Wale Adeyemo, Secretary General Alhaji Lawal, Public Relations Officer Honorable Olalere Jimoh, Mr. Atobatele, Alhaji Bello, and a host of other dignitaries from the G6, alongside members of the media. The occasion underscored the far-reaching impact of Princess Bada’s work in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and how her leadership has garnered international attention.

The G6 Diaspora officials expressed their admiration for the Mayoress, highlighting that her excellence had not gone unnoticed. “You may not know it, but people are watching you from across West Africa,” said the representatives of G6, acknowledging the far-reaching influence of her efforts. They pointed out that her exemplary leadership had set a standard that was being admired by communities beyond Nigeria, across nations like Benin, Ghana, Togo, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire.

The G6 officials further emphasized that the purpose of the award was not just to recognize her achievements but also to encourage others to follow her example. “This award is a small token of appreciation, but we say thank you, Your Excellency, for the work you have done in the LCDA,” they remarked, making it clear that Princess Bada’s efforts were seen as a model for other leaders in the region.

A Humble and Grateful Response

In response to the recognition, Princess Asamiat Abolanle Bada expressed her profound gratitude to the G6 Diaspora for the unexpected honor. “I want to first thank Almighty God for His continuous blessings and guidance,” she said. “And I want to especially thank the gentlemen from the diaspora who have come all the way from different countries to honor me. This award is a big surprise, and I must admit that I never imagined that people from outside Nigeria would come to appreciate me for the work I do in my local government.”

Princess Bada’s humility shone through as she spoke about the challenges and responsibilities of her role. “As the head of this LCDA, my heart is always with my community. I am a grassroots person, and I am always in touch with the people to understand their needs and concerns. That is why you can see that all over Ikosi-Isheri, various development projects are taking place,” she explained.

She also shared her excitement about the upcoming commissioning of several projects in the community, which were set to be unveiled in early December, as well as the upcoming trade fair on December 2nd. “These are groundbreaking events, and I can tell you that some of the things we have done in this LCDA have never happened in any of the 57 local governments in Lagos State,” she proudly stated.

Despite the recognition, Princess Bada remained grounded, noting that she is always focused on her work. “Even when I thought I could rest today, I received a text message this morning reminding me that I had to be in the office. That’s the kind of commitment I have for my people. Thank you again for this honor.”

A Commitment to Community and Youth Empowerment

The Mayoress did not let the opportunity pass without sharing her vision for the future, particularly in regard to youth empowerment. “I am proud of the youths in our community. They have been wonderful supporters, and many of them serve as officials in the LCDA. The youth are not just leaders of tomorrow; they are the leaders of today,” she emphasized.

Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada encouraged the younger generation to stay focused and continue striving for greatness. “To the youths, I say keep your focus and never lose sight of your goals. You are the future of this community and this country. It’s your commitment and hard work that will shape the future.”

Her message to the youth was clear: leadership is not a distant aspiration but an immediate responsibility. She urged them to take ownership of their roles and make a difference in their communities, just as she has done in Ikosi-Isheri.

Looking Ahead: A Legacy of Leadership

The G6 Diaspora’s recognition of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada is a reflection of her extraordinary leadership, which has not only impacted Ikosi-Isheri LCDA but has resonated across borders. Her dedication to the development of her community, her ability to connect with the grassroots, and her commitment to improving the lives of her people have set a high standard for leadership.

As Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada continues to work tirelessly for her community, the recognition from the G6 Diaspora serves as a reminder that effective leadership transcends borders and can inspire people from different nations to come together in appreciation of good governance and community service. The award also reflects the importance of fostering international collaboration and recognition, showing that great leadership is recognized globally, regardless of where it originates.

With more projects and initiatives on the horizon, Princess Bada remains focused on delivering positive change for Ikosi-Isheri, driven by her unwavering love for her community and her dedication to the people she serves.
