GH Somolu Partners Experts on Free Medical Outreach

The General Hospital Somolu organized a “Free Medical Outreach Programme” on the 11th of August, 2026 at hospitals premises.

This was in partnership with The Lagos State Ministry of Health, Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Global Health Charity and Training Foundation, The National Orthopedic Hospital Igbobi (NOHIL), DBA Comprehensive Health Charity and Capacity Health Foundation.

The MD/CEO of GH Somolu-Dr. Adesina Ayodele ably represented by the DMD, Dr. Nathaniel Olugbenga Oja was elated for such magnitude of programme happening in GH Somolu.

 

Dr. Ayodele who declared the outreach open, acknowledged the sponsors and partners that helped to fund the event. He also thanked the doctors, nurses, volunteers for their hard work.

According to him: “Health is a basic human right for everyone but prevention is better than cure”.

He further made future commitments to the patients by asking them to visit the hospital for follow-up care if they need more help, especially as the hospital is poised to do everything in its capacity to give them adequate healthcare services.

The lead team of partners to the project -Dr. Adebayo Akintobi from Global Health Charity and Training Foundation, while assuring patients that all care was completely free and safe, urged them to ask questions and talk openly with the doctors.

He also envisaged greater partnerships with the hospital for “A Greater Lagos Rising”.

Close to four hundred (400) patients were given the following services for free:

*Blood Pressure checks
*Diabetes screening
*Cholesterol checks
*Prostrate cancer screening
*Mental health screening & counseling
*Free medication
*Malaria tests as well as;
*Enrollment into the LASHMA Scheme.

 

 

Earlier the “Day 1” of the medical outreach was held on the 10th, at The National Orthopedic Hospital Igbobi with the culmination of the programme at the General Hospital Somolu on the 11th of August.
