Lagos, Nigeria October 22, 2025.

In a remarkable display of compassion and service, Hon. Adetunji Muyideen Adebowale, Special Assistant to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, marked his birthday with a humanitarian outreach tagged “Birthday Beyond Borders.”

Instead of hosting a lavish celebration, Hon. Adebowale chose to celebrate by giving back to society. The initiative featured the distribution of 5,000 meal packages to underprivileged individuals across various communities a gesture that underscores his continued commitment to uplifting the less privileged.

The event also witnessed the official launch of the Adetunji Adebowale Foundation for Empowerment (AAFE) a platform established to promote youth development, women empowerment, skills acquisition, and poverty alleviation across Nigeria.

Speaking with Momentous Magazine during the outreach, Hon. Adebowale shared the inspiration behind the initiative.

“We decided to focus on the less privileged. Instead of organizing the usual birthday party with music and entertainment, we gathered the funds and reached out to 5,000 people. That’s what we just did today,” he explained.

When asked about the source of support for his philanthropic activities, he credited his professional network and colleagues for their contributions.

“I work with Moniepoint as the Regional Manager for Lagos. I also have friends in different industries who usually shower me with gifts during my birthday. This year, I asked that whatever they planned to give me should be put together and used to support the less privileged and that’s exactly what we did.”

Hon. Adebowale also used the opportunity to encourage more government and private interventions to cushion the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians.

“If the government can continue to provide packages like this for the less privileged from time to time, things will gradually improve. President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing a lot. Although things may seem tough now, it will take a little while before we begin to feel the full impact of his policies. Those of us who are privileged must also play our part by assisting others during this period,” he said.

Addressing speculations about his political ambitions following the last election, Hon. Adebowale clarified that he did not contest.

“I didn’t lose any election. During the primaries, it was a consensus decision, and we were asked to step down for Hon. Lukman Irelope, who currently represents our constituency in the House of Assembly. As for the future, I can’t say for now,” he stated.

The “Birthday Beyond Borders” outreach and the unveiling of the Adetunji Adebowale Foundation for Empowerment reflect Hon. Adebowale’s enduring belief in leadership through service, compassion, and empowerment values that continue to define his journey both in politics and public life.
