‘I will make sure PDP loses in Edo election 2024- Prophet Godwin Ikuru, PROPHETIC HALL OF FAME.
As the political atmosphere intensifies by the day in Edo State, in preparation for the much-contested gubernatorial election in September, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, the spiritual leader of the Jehovah Eye Salvation, has made a bold prediction that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP will lose in the upcoming election.
The prophet known for his controversial predictions said he will do everything as a prophet to make sure the ruling party in the state faces defeat in the highly anticipated Edo State election.
He said , “PDP will not win because, why, I Prophet Godwin Ikuru of Prophetic Hall of Fame will do everything possible on my knees as a prophet of God”, he said. His statement has sparked controversy amidst political developments and defections in the state.
Prophet Ikuru however challenged Governor Godwin Obaseki, who is seen as the political face of the party in the state to go to any length spiritually, that his candidate will not win. “They can go anywhere, the person of Godwin Obaseki, can go anywhere, he can call all the pastors. The way I proved God to pastors in the election of Asiwaju, I will prove it and they will see it.”, he added.
It will be recalled that Asue Ighodalo, the governor’s preferred candidate and a Lagos-based lawyer emerged PDP governorship governorship candidate for the September election. Ighodalo, a former chairperson of Sterling Bank, polled a total of 577 votes, defeating nine other aspirants.
However, the newly inaugurated deputy governor of Edo State, Marvelous Omobayo, has promised to ensure the victory of Governor Obaseki’s anointed candidate.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced that 17 political parties will be contesting the 21 September governorship election in Edo across the 18 local government areas.
