Leader of the Yoruba race, Professor Stephen Adebanji Akintoye has revealed that he has never had a one-on-one meeting with ex-governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Professor of History made this revelation on Tuesday while featuring on Parrot Xtra Hour on Radio, a magazine programme aired on King 103.9FM in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Akintoye also submitted that the much talked-about Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed ‘Operation Amotekun’ is a project God designed to save the Yorubas.

In his words “I would say Amotekun is God’s inspiration for the salvation of the Yoruba people and all Yoruba people are grateful to the South-West governors. They deserve the gratitude of all Yoruba people.”

Speaking about the Yoruba people scattered in the far south, Kwara State, Republic of Benin, Akintoye announced that they are all included in his agenda.

Akintoye also charged President Muhammadu Buhari on what Nigerians expect from his office in connection with the security situation in the country.

His words “If I had the opportunity of meeting with President Buhari, I will tell him ‘since you have become the ruler of Nigeria, your duty is to Nigeria and if your Fulani people are doing what they’re doing now- destroying places and killing people in their houses, we expect that you will stop them in the interest of Nigerians and if you’re not doing so, Mr President, you’re building a bad history for this part of the world. We know you can change it and you should change it’”.
