Justice For George Floyd
Following the death of George Floyd (here pictured) after a police officer knelt on his neck for 8 minutes, thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in Minneapolis to demand justice!
Some of the demonstrators carry placards labelled “I can’t breathe” –words used by the deceased as he screamed in pain before dying, while others write “Black lives matter”.
The victim’s heartbroken family members have called for the police officers to be charged with murder.
Accused of forgery, the Black man was arrested and handcuffed before the White police officer knelt on his neck while he screamed in excruciating pain.
“Please, please! I can’t breathe…My stomach hurts, my neck hurts, everything hurts,” the shirtless George Floyd could be heard begging the officers.
He was pinned to the ground for about eight minutes before losing consciousness and eventually dying of medical distress (according to the Minneapolis Police Department).
Following the incident, the officers involved in the scene were put on paid administrative leave, and later sacked as an investigation opens.”
