K1’s mother Alhaja Sadiatu  Boluade is from Lagos Island while his father  is from there Fidipotemole ruling house in Ijebu -Ode.Ogun State.

The young Wasiu started as a Parker under the  Late Fuji creator Alhaji  Sikiru Ayinde Balogun aka Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.

He later formed the Fuji Messiah organization ,but his breakthrough came in 1984 when he released a muster album titled “Talazo”.

The album marked a turning point in his career and since then he has been hits upon hits.

Some of the hit albums are “American tips”,”Fuji Collections”,”The Ultimate” and others.

In the course of his career  the man who is also being referred to as Oluaye Fuji has won numerous awards  both home and abroad .

To this end the late Oba of Lagos Adeyinka Oyekan crowned him “Oluomo” of Lagos while the Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi honoured him with “Maiyegun” of Yoruba land.
