Nigerian reggae artist King Wadada De Ultimate Disciple has released a new Extended Play (EP) titled Hidden Truth, a six-track project that blends roots reggae with strong messages of love, peace, unity, and social awareness.

The musician made this known during a recent chat with Momentous Media, where he spoke extensively about his music, mission, and views on the state of society.

Born Austin Peter on August 6, King Wadada is a Nigerian reggae singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is widely recognized for his spiritually driven sound and his popular track “Holy Holy.” Over the years, he has built a reputation as one of Africa’s most outspoken reggae voices, earning accolades including a Kora Award for Best Reggae Artist in Africa and a Grammy Award nomination in the same category.

Speaking on his musical identity, King Wadada described his sound as a unique form of roots reggae which he calls “Utam-Bala Root Rock Reggae.” According to him, the style is deeply African and spiritual, created to convey messages of repentance, peace, and love to a global audience.

“The kind of music I play is reggae music, but my style is Utam-Bala Root Rock Reggae,” he explained. “It means African, spiritual reggae music. I use it to spread the message of love, peace, and repentance to the whole world.”

Beyond vocals, King Wadada is also skilled in playing several musical instruments, including the guitar and conga, and he runs his own imprint, Wadada World Class Entertainment, under which his works are released.

In the interview, the artist positioned himself among what he described as the current generation of leading reggae artists on the continent. While paying tribute to legendary figures such as Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, and Majek Fashek, he emphasized that a new era of African reggae has emerged.

“Our fathers in reggae tried their best, but God has called them to glory,” he said. “Right now, the current reggae artists in Africa are myself, Alpha Blondy, and a few others. The movement is still alive, and the message continues.”

At the heart of King Wadada’s artistry is activism. He views music as a powerful tool for social change, insisting that it should promote happiness, unity, and truth. He used the platform to call on leaders to be more attentive to the needs of young people and the general population.

“Music is a weapon to speak the truth to the whole world,” he stated. “I advise the government to hear the cry of the people. We need leadership that listens to the youth and promotes peace.”

He also spoke passionately about national unity, urging Nigerians across religious and ethnic lines to coexist peacefully.

“Christians and Muslims need to unite. We need to stop killing, hating, and fighting one another,” he said. “Nobody will stay in this world forever; the time we have now should be used to love one another.”

King Wadada further condemned social vices and corruption, calling on individuals in positions of authority to act responsibly and avoid exploiting innocent citizens.

The newly released EP, Hidden Truth, encapsulates these themes. According to the artist, the project addresses real-life issues and unspoken realities affecting society today.

“Everything on the EP is what is happening in the world that people don’t want to talk about,” he said. “That’s why I called it Hidden Truth.”

The six-track EP is now available on all major digital and social media platforms, and King Wadada has encouraged fans and music lovers to stream, download, share, and engage with the project.

With Hidden Truth, King Wadada De Ultimate Disciple continues to assert his place as a leading voice in African reggae—using music not just as entertainment, but as a call for conscience, unity, and transformation.
