*ABUJA —* The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, has been formally presented with the notification letter for the *Operational Leadership, Courage in Strategic Defence and Management Award 2026*.
The official notification letter was presented to the Customs Chief at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja by the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of *Momentous Magazine*, Amb. Prince Sesan Rufus Awobiye.
The prestigious honour, organized under the auspices of the Momentous Outstanding Personalities Award (MOPA), recognizes Adeniyi’s visionary leadership, operational excellence, and steadfast commitment to national security, trade facilitation, and economic development.
In the official letter, Amb. Prince Sesan Rufus Awobiye commended the Comptroller-General for driving sweeping institutional reforms, modernizing customs administration through technology and innovation, combating smuggling, and boosting revenue collection across the nation.
“Under your leadership, the Nigeria Customs Service has continued to record remarkable achievements in revenue collection, anti-smuggling operations, trade facilitation, and inter-agency collaboration,” the letter read. “Your courage in implementing strategic reforms, commitment to professionalism, and dedication to institutional excellence have strengthened the Service’s capacity to protect Nigeria’s borders while fostering economic growth.”
The Momentous Outstanding Personalities Award (MOPA) serves as a national platform to celebrate distinguished leaders and organizations whose integrity, innovation, and service contribute significantly to nation-building and institutional transformation.
The formal award presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place in October 2026 at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, where distinguished leaders across key sectors will gather to celebrate excellence in public service and governance.
