It was a massive joy and fun-filled celebration in the whole of Edo state! Most especially in the Palace of the great Benin Kingdom, as the Oba of Benin, the Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II happily named his son which was birthed by his second wife, Queen Iyayota.

Oba Ewuare II who took over the royal stool of his ancestors on October 20, 2016, welcomed a baby boy with his second wife some weeks back with the baby and the mother in good health.

And as tradition demands, he has named the child accordingly. The name of the child is Prince Idugbowa Ewuare ‘II

The ceremony was witnessed by high palace chiefs, nobles, and invited dignitaries from far and near. Everybody present in the palace was in joyous mood with his royal majesty, Oba Ewuare II as he celebrates his achievement and thank the gods of their ancestors for blessing the palace with a young prince.

Male children are the dreams of every royal household because it represents reassurance and continuity of the king’s family lineage. The male child is looking very healthy and full of life as the Oba looks at him with massive joy. It is our prayers that the prince will grow in good health, grace, long life. And that he shall be blessed abundantly by God almighty.

We also pray that God almighty will bless the great king with unlimited wisdom to be able to lead the people of Benin Kingdom and the whole of Edo state to the promised land. Not to forget her royal highness, Queen Iyayota. We say a very big congratulations to you on your safe delivery and we ask God almighty to continue to keep you and your new born baby in good health as he has always done.
