Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is fast transforming Nigeria’s economy, restoring national confidence, and laying a sustainable foundation for the future,

Obasa, who spoke at the 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Engagement held at the Agege Local Government secretariat, said the theme of this year’s gathering — “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda” — was chosen to showcase the tangible results of governance under Tinubu’s leadership.

“Renewed hope is not a mere slogan; it is a call to action and a vision already in progress,” Obasa told the packed hall of constituents, party leaders, community stakeholders, and traditional rulers.

The Speaker highlighted major achievements of the Tinubu administration, including bold economic reforms that have boosted investor confidence, improved Nigeria’s credit rating, and diversified revenue sources. He noted that massive infrastructure projects — from modern roads and upgraded ports to world-class public facilities — are reinforcing Nigeria’s position as Africa’s hub for commerce and innovation.

On agriculture, Obasa said investments in mechanised farming, easier access to financing, and wider markets have empowered farmers and boosted food production, putting Nigeria on the path to self-sufficiency. He also pointed to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a landmark policy that is restoring stability to campuses and giving students new opportunities.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda is a deliberate blueprint for recovery, designed to lift millions out of poverty and unlock opportunities for every Nigerian,” Obasa said.

He drew a parallel between Tinubu’s federal initiatives and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s work in Lagos, praising the state government’s record in urban renewal, housing, transport, and people-oriented legislation. According to him, Lagos is now a model of modern city governance and sustainable development.

The event turned celebratory as Obasa’s constituents intermittently broke into songs, applauding his 24 years of consistent service as their representative.

Earlier, the Acting Executive Chairman of Agege LGA, Hon. Abdul Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, praised Tinubu’s courage in steering Nigeria back to economic stability and pledged to replicate his leadership style at the grassroots.

The gathering was attended by party leaders, religious figures, traditional rulers, and members of various associations.
