Okoya Dynasty Celebrates Eid-Il-Fitri With Nigerians, Enjoins All To Be Covid Conscious

The magnificent and industrious family of Okoya led by its indefatigable patriarch, Aare Rasak Akannj and his beautiful and ever dutiful wife, Dr. Mrs. Shade Okoya, is felicitating with Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-il-Fitri. The amiable and shrewd multi-billionaire businessman, Aare Okoya, on behalf of his entire family is using this opportunity to say a big congratulations to all Muslim brothers and sisters who have found themselves in sober and prayerful moods restraining from their usual ways of eating and drinking for the last 30 days while urging them to keep maintaining their closeness to the Almighty Allah most especially in this very trying period.

Additionally, wife of the industrial giant, Dr Mrs. Shade Okoya, also calls for sober reflection on the need to activate a more cordial relationship with Allah,  that it is the only way to see the very high level at which God loves all mankind. She urged all Muslim brethren to keep praying to Allah assiduously and tirelessly. The Okoya industrial dynasty, a very religious and Islamic empire also advised Nigerians to keep adhering to the rules and regulations guiding the curtailing of the spread of the dreaded and killer disease, the corona virus.

The highly reverred and respected Okoya clan urged Nigerians to observe the necessary healthy steps of sanitizing their hands, making use of the nose masks, keeping to social distancing order and self isolation. The Okoyas believe that if all these prescribed orders by the World Health (WHO) Organization and global leaders are observed, the safety of all human race shall be guaranteed Covid or no Covid. The Okoyas urged Nigerians not to ignore the reality of the rampaging corona virus concluding that the Almighty Allah shall keep granting all human race the privilege of observing successfully more and more Eid-il-Fitri in sound and perfect health.

I feel privileged to have served in his cabinet — first in the consolidated Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, and later in the restructured Ministry of Works and Housing. President Buhari was not a man to micromanage; instead, he gave you the space and the trust to deliver. With that trust, however, came the highest expectations of discipline, results, and honesty. He had a quiet strength. Yet, within and outside the cabinet, I witnessed his compassion — his deep concern for the poor, the pensioner, the soldier in the trenches, the almajiri child, and the underserved in every part of this country. Under his leadership, the nation confronted formidable challenges: insurgency, economic volatility, a global pandemic, and deep political tension. Yet he remained consistent — never ruled by noise or poll ratings, only by the burden of responsibility and his belief in posterity’s judgment. His death marks the end of a defining chapter in Nigeria’s journey — one marked by sacrifice, moral authority, and patriotic resolve. But even in death, President Muhammadu Buhari leaves behind a living legacy: one of service above self, of discipline without drama, of truth without theatrics.
