On the Escalation Between Israel and Iran

“As an advocate for peace, justice, and responsible global leadership, I wish to express my deep concern over today’s military escalation between Israel and Iran.
Reports of Israel’s strike on Iranian territory and Iran’s immediate retaliation mark a dangerous development in an already volatile region. The world cannot afford a widening conflict at this critical time when diplomatic engagement is needed more than ever.
I urge the leadership of both nations to consider the profound consequences of continued aggression — not only for their own citizens but for regional and global peace. The cycle of provocation and retaliation must be broken.
I call on:
Israel and Iran to show restraint and prioritize de-escalation;
The international community, including the United Nations, African Union, and other peace-focused bodies, to intervene swiftly with diplomatic channels;
All leaders and citizens worldwide to speak up for peaceful solutions over warfare.
Nigeria, as a nation built on resilience and unity amid diversity, understands the importance of dialogue. We stand in solidarity with all those affected by this conflict and remain hopeful that reason, not rage, will guide the days ahead.
Peace is not passive — it is a responsibility we must all bear.”
