Speaking on her plans for members of POWA at the command, the chairperson said, “We have a lot of things on our agenda one of which is health care for women. A lot of women go down because they don’t really take care for their health. So many people are suffering from one thing or the other.

“So, by next year, we are going to bring health experts here that will check on our vitals and give us recommendation and what to do.

“We will also go into empowering members that haven’t gotten anything doing. Gone are those days when women sit at home and not have anything doing.

“The POWA president in the person of Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun wants every woman that is called a police wife to have something doing.

“So, as many people that have nothing doing, we will empower them with any vocation of their choice. By the grace of God, we will be helping some people to further their education, we will do scholarship and all those stuffs. With the support of my husband and our POWA friends, we will achieve that,” she promised.

When asked how he intends to support the group, the Commissioner of Police at the command who doubles as the husband of the chairperson, CP Olanrewaju Ishola promised to support the women in their quest for greatness and also help to empower them in their various areas.

Gone are the days when police wives sit in the barracks and their husbands bring money to them.

“So, she has sent out marching order to the chairpersons that this wing must be coopted and encouraged to join POWA because there is immense benefits.

“On my own as CP, I have told them that I am going to help them, empower them under the armbit of what is available and what is allowed under the law. Soit is a good time for the women, they should not have any iota of doubt about joining POWA.”
