The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has been ranked 101–150 in the 2020 Times Higher Education Golden Age University Rankings across the world.
In the Golden Age category, UNILAG also ranked 3rd in Africa and 2nd in Nigeria.
The “Golden Age” category of the Times Higher Education ranking was uniquely crafted for universities which were established between 1945 and 1967.
It highlights best universities established for more than 50 years, but less than 80 years.
The ranking was carried out following the Times Higher Education World University Rankings methodology which entails judging research-intensive universities across all their core missions such as: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
The Golden Age University Rankings for 2020 was published on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, appreciates members of staff, students, alumni and friends of the University for their various contributions to the achievement of this feat and charges everyone to continue contributing their quota to make the University of Lagos great.
