The Rotary Club of Eko Atlantic held one of its most anticipated annual events, the installation ceremony of its 7th President, Rotarian Abhishek Srivastava, alongside the new Board of Directors for the Rotary Year 2025. The prestigious event, themed “Unite for Good”, took place on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 at the Grand Ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Lagos drawing distinguished guests, Rotarians, and dignitaries from across District 9112 and beyond.
A Celebration of Leadership, Service, and Culture
The evening was a spectacular blend of tradition, culture, and entertainment, embodying Rotary’s values of leadership, service, and fellowship. The event commenced at 6:00 PM with a glamorous red-carpet reception featuring cocktails, networking sessions, and photo opportunities for guests and dignitaries.
At 7:30 PM the official program began with the recitation of the National Anthem after which the Master of Ceremonies, Nigerian comedy icon Basket-mouth, welcomed guests, outlined the program of events, and set the tone for an evening filled with inspiration and celebration.
Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future
The Installation Ceremony Chairman expressed heartfelt appreciation to all dignitaries and members in attendance, highlighting the purpose of the evening to celebrate leadership transition and reaffirm Rotary’s commitment to humanitarian service.
The outgoing President Otunba GOC Bada delivered a moving address reflecting on his tenure, expressing gratitude to members, partners, and supporters, while formally handing over the mantle of leadership to Rotarian Abhishek Srivastava.
The Grand Installation
The highlight of the evening was the installation of the 7th President and the new Board of Directors. The moment was marked by thematic music, dramatic lighting, and applause as past and current presidents joined on stage to witness the symbolic transition.
In his inaugural address, President Abhishek Srivastava outlined his vision for the Rotary Year 2025–2026, emphasizing unity, community impact, and continuity of service projects that uplift lives and foster peace.
He reaffirmed the club’s commitment to Rotary’s global goals, urging members to “Unite for Good”through collaborative efforts that strengthen communities and inspire positive change.
Entertainment Extravaganza
Guests were treated to a star-studded program that featured international and local acts. The renowned Indian singer Yeman Singh, flown in from Mumbai, serenaded the audience with soulful performances that bridged cultures and created an atmosphere of elegance.
In one of the evening’s most memorable highlights, Mr. Singh invited President Abhishek Srivastava to join him on stage, prompting a delightful surprise for the audience. The President, known for his charismatic personality, performed a song alongside the artist a gesture that received a standing ovation and added a heartfelt touch to the celebration.
Basket-mouth, serving as the event host, kept the audience entertained with his signature humor, while the Prudence Band delivered electrifying live music performances that kept guests on their feet.
Adding a local flavor, a Nigerian dance troupe thrilled the audience with high-energy Afrobeat performances, symbolizing the vibrancy of Nigerian culture.
A Night of Fellowship and Celebration
The ceremony also featured a photo session capturing President Srivastava and his First Lady alongside past presidents, district leaders, and members of the Board of Directors.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner and a fine selection of drinks reflecting the spirit of Rotary fellowship and hospitality.
A fashion showcase featuring a fusion of Indian and Nigerian designs celebrated the cultural diversity and inclusivity that the Rotary Club of Eko Atlantic champions.
To cap off the night, DJ Exclusive took over the turntables for an energetic after-party, keeping the celebration alive well into the night as Rotarians and guests danced and networked in high spirits
