Dallas, Texas, April 19, 2025 – In a majestic ceremony that drew attention from traditional, diplomatic, and international communities, High Chief Ambassador (Dr.) Omogbolahan Adisa Bobby Oseni, a globally recognized United Nations Ambassador for Peace and Permanent Member of the United Nations, was honored with the Scepter of Authority by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adeogun Ogunbona Ogunjobi, the Olu of Orile Igbore in Egba Kingdom.

The historic event took place in Dallas, Texas, during the Royal Installation of Orile Igbore Chiefs, a cultural and spiritual celebration that saw the installation of four new chiefs under the prestigious Akile chieftaincy structure.

Dr. Oseni, who is also the Chairman and CEO of S.G. Multinational Investment Limited LLC and ALOS and President/Founder of the Dr. S.G. Oseni Foundation, had previously been installed as the High Chief Akile of Orile Igbore in Egba Kingdom — a rare and powerful traditional title.

During the event, the Olu of Orile Igbore, in a moment of royal recognition, presented the Scepter of Authority to Dr. Oseni—a symbolic item that reaffirms his power and authority in the Egba traditional hierarchy. The Kabiyesi (king) elaborated on the importance of the Akile title, emphasizing that it is a position of immense cultural weight and leadership.

According to Oba Ogunjobi, only two individuals in Nigeria currently bear the Akile title, making it an extremely prestigious and exclusive honor. The first was the late Otunba Subomi Balogun, who held the title Akile of Ijebu Land while Dr. Oseni now holds the corresponding title for the Egba Kingdom—Akile of Orile Igbore.

The king further stated that the Akile title is equivalent in power and influence to the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, a revered warrior title currently held by Gani Adams. Just like the Aare Ona Kakanfo, the Akile title commands authority over a region and carries the right to confer chieftaincy titles independently.

Dr. Oseni’s elevation not only highlights his impact within the Yoruba cultural landscape but also bridges his local heritage with his global responsibilities. As a UN Global Peace Ambassador and security personnel under the United Nations framework, his recognition by a traditional monarch signifies a deep cultural endorsement of his service to peace, leadership, and humanity.

The event was not just a local affair; it resonated across continents. Guests included dignitaries, cultural custodians, business leaders, and members of the diaspora community, all gathered in Dallas to witness the spiritual, cultural, and diplomatic symbolism of the event.

In his remarks following the ceremony, Dr. Oseni expressed gratitude to Kabiyesi and the people of Orile Igbore. He pledged to uphold the values of justice, development, peace, and cultural preservation both in Nigeria and abroad.

“This is more than a title; it is a responsibility. It is a legacy. I am honored to carry this scepter as a symbol of leadership, peace, and empowerment for our people both at home and in the diaspora,” he said.

With the conferment of the Scepter of Authority and the affirmation of his Akile title, High Chief Ambassador (Dr.) Omogbolahan Adisa Bobby Oseni stands as a bridge between ancient tradition and modern diplomacy—upholding Yoruba cultural pride while advancing international peace and development.

The conferment of the Akile title, especially alongside the presentation of the Scepter of Authority, represents a spiritual and cultural mandate rooted in centuries of Yoruba tradition. In the annals of Egba history, the Akile is not just a chieftaincy figure, but a custodian of ancestral heritage, with the moral obligation to safeguard the values, history, and continuity of the people. The Akile’s role, therefore, extends beyond ceremonial functions—it is a deeply symbolic position that commands respect, fosters unity, and serves as a moral compass for the community.

This recognition also symbolizes the fusion of heritage and modernity, as Dr. Oseni embodies the ideals of a new generation of traditional leaders—individuals who are not only grounded in their cultural identity but are also active participants in global governance and peacebuilding. His dual role as a traditional titleholder and international diplomat presents a unique platform for promoting African traditions on a world stage, thereby elevating the profile of Yoruba culture within global discourse. The Akile of Orile Igbore is, in this context, both a cultural ambassador and a visionary leader.

Moreover, the elevation of Dr. Oseni to such a revered title sends a powerful message to the global African diaspora about the enduring value of cultural roots and identity. At a time when many seek to reconnect with their heritage, this honor reinforces the relevance of traditional institutions in shaping societal values and guiding moral leadership. It underscores the importance of maintaining strong ties to one’s origin, and using traditional platforms to influence positive change both locally and internationally.
