Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has urged Nigerians to exercise “deliberate calmness and extreme caution” as the country battles COVID-19.

Keyamo made the call via his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
He also said the paranoia over the virus has become more deadlier than the disease itself.

Momentousnews reported that Keyamo opined that another total lockdown in the country would be counterproductive as Nigerians had to learn to live with the virus.

He tweeted: The panic and paranoia over the virus have become more deadly and infectious than the virus itself! What we need is deliberate calmness and extreme caution as we meticulously follow all the guidelines of @WHO and @NCDCgov daily. Panic always compounds every emergency situation.”

Responding to his tweet, A Twitter user, @sarahbenzies wrote: “Hon. Minister is because you move around inside your tinted windows car that’s why you don’t know what it means to be panicking, try joining the office staff bus”.

Another Twitter user, @sirwynee tweeted: “Dear Minister, I want to remind you that 80% of Nigerians are hungry and can’t relate to this tweet nor understand the word “Calmness”. What we need is 100% honesty, & competent delivering from your Govt”.
