UNKNOWN GUNMEN ATTACK A COMMUNITY IN KATSINA, ABDUCT STUDENTS
Armed men suspected to be bandits have invaded Government Science Secondary School in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing a security guard and kidnapping some students.
The unknown men reportedly stormed the school in the early hours of Saturday December 12, and abducted the students, it was also reported that a security official of the school was killed.
A resident of the state told SaharaReporters that the bandits stormed the school at 10:45 pm on Friday, shooting sporadically for over an hour.
Malam Umaru Kabiru, a resident of the area who also went to the school to search for his two brothers, said those missing “could be more than 100″
“Armed men stormed Government Science Secondary School in Kankara LGA, Katsina State, northwest Nigeria, and kidnapped dozens of students from their dormitories early today. A missing persons count is currently in progress.” A tweet from HumAngle reads.
The community is few kilometres away from the President’s hometown, Daura. No official statement has been made by the police and the specific number of abducted students has not been verified.
