The Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado has showered encomium on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for the wonderful job the Scheme is doing towards the development of rural communities in Nigeria.
The monarch stated this while addressing Corps members and officials during the NYSC National Environmental Day which was held across the country.
In his address, he said “this is a scheme that I will want to continue because of its impact on the development of Nigeria especially in the rural areas”.
The Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, commended the NYSC Director General for his noble and notable initiatives ranging from the HIRD to the NYSC Environmental Sanitation Programme.
He specifically commended corps members in Ikere-Ekiti for their different developmental initiatives like the construction of Speed breakers, construction and renovation of public toilets, Health initiative programmes among others.
The NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Mrs Mary N. Chikezie in her reaction appreciated the monarch for supporting the scheme as well as taking the corps members as his own children.
