A coalition of Ogun State indigene living abroad, under the umbrella of Ogun State Diasporas, has declared its support for the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), endorsing him as its preferred candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued on July 17, 2026, in Vienna, Austria, and signed by the group’s Coordinator, Engr. Oluyemi Ogundele.

According to the group, the decision followed what it described as a careful assessment of individuals being considered for the state’s highest office. It stated that Senator Adeola possesses the leadership qualities, vision, experience, and commitment required to sustain Ogun State’s developmental strides and accelerate its growth.

The communiqué described the lawmaker as a compassionate and people-oriented leader whose track record in public service has earned him widespread recognition across the state.

“We are convinced that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola remains the most qualified candidate to lead Ogun State into its next phase of development. His achievements, experience, and commitment to the welfare of the people distinguish him as the right person for the job,” the statement read.

The group further expressed confidence that the progress recorded under the current All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration in Ogun State would be strengthened through continuity in governance.

Highlighting Senator Adeola’s contributions, the group cited his investments in road infrastructure, educational development, youth empowerment initiatives, rural development projects, and his legislative accomplishments at the National Assembly. It also commended his ability to foster unity and build meaningful relationships across political and social divides.

Engr. Ogundele assured the senator of the unwavering support of Ogun State Diasporas, noting that members of the group are committed to mobilising support for his governorship aspiration both at home and abroad.

He also called on the people of Ogun State to rally behind Senator Adeola’s 2027 bid, describing it as an opportunity to consolidate on the developmental achievements already recorded in the state.

The coordinator disclosed that members of the group are expected to meet with Senator Adeola for a formal presentation of their endorsement on the sidelines of the 2026 Ogun State Diaspora Day celebration scheduled to hold later this month in Nigeria.

Engr. Ogundele also reaffirmed his commitment to encouraging Ogun State indigene in the diaspora to return home to invest, contribute to economic development, and support the transformation agenda of the state government.
