The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has taken another significant step in its preparations for the 2027 general elections as the Lagos Grassroots Alliance (LGA) officially unveiled a new identity alongside an expanded grassroots mobilisation campaign designed to consolidate support for the party across the state.

The unveiling ceremony, held in Ikeja, attracted more than 3,000 party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, market associations, professionals and political stakeholders from the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State.
Held under the theme, “2027 Election: Waking the Giant Vote in Lagos,” the event marked a new phase in the Alliance’s activities, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening grassroots participation, promoting political inclusion and fostering collaboration among residents in support of the APC’s electoral aspirations.
Speaking at the event, leaders of the Alliance explained that the renewed structure would focus on expanding the party’s presence at the community level through sustained voter mobilisation, membership drive, civic engagement and closer interaction with various stakeholder groups across Lagos.

The Convener of the Lagos Grassroots Alliance, Hon. Owolabi Jamiu Falana, described the initiative as a platform to further unite progressive-minded Lagosians while encouraging active participation in governance and the democratic process.
The impressive turnout was widely regarded as a demonstration of the Alliance’s organisational strength and its growing influence across the state. Political observers and party stakeholders noted that the attendance surpassed expectations, reflecting years of consistent grassroots engagement and mobilisation spearheaded by the Alliance.

Discussions during the programme also centred on strengthening the APC’s political structures, increasing voter education, encouraging youth participation and broadening engagement with traders, artisans, entrepreneurs, students, women and community-based organisations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Representing the Lagos State Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, commended the initiative and urged party members to remain united, committed and focused on delivering victory for the APC in the next election.

Also in attendance were the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Director of the Lagos State Governorship Campaign, Moremi Ojudu, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Community Engagement (South-West), who represented the Presidency, as well as several party leaders and prominent stakeholders.
The dignitaries praised the Lagos Grassroots Alliance for building a formidable community-based political network capable of complementing the party’s statewide campaign efforts. They expressed confidence that the renewed structure would play a strategic role in deepening public engagement and strengthening support for the APC across Lagos.
Reaffirming its guiding philosophy of “One Lagos, Many Voices,” the Alliance pledged to continue championing unity, inclusiveness and active grassroots participation while working closely with communities to advance the developmental vision of the state.

The successful unveiling of the Alliance’s new identity and mobilisation agenda underscores the APC’s determination to consolidate its grassroots support base and position the party strongly for a successful outing in the 2027 general elections.
