The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has uploaded 257 seized vehicles and 39 other items for auction in the second round of its re-launched e-auction exercise holding today.

The NCS, however, did not indicate what the 39 “other items” are.

A check on the e-auction website in the early hours of this morning shows that 1,809 potential bidders have registered to bid for the seized items.

The online bidding exercise will hold from 12noon to 6pm.

SHIPS & PORTS reported exclusively last week that 86 vehicles were won on the first day of the e-auction exercise.

The first set of successful bidders emerged on Tuesday January 16 out of 1,099 registered applicants and 1,137 bids.

Last week, many prospective bidders who spoke with SHIPS & PORTS complained of hiccups in the e-auction system, which made it impossible for them to participate in the exercise.

Some said that while they were able to register on the portal, the system logged them out of the actual bidding exercise hours before the deadline for bid submission.
