The Adele Olu of Ilaro-Yewa, High Chief Abiodun Olalekan Ilo, has thrown his full support behind the 2027 gubernatorial ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), praising the lawmaker for what he describes as unprecedented developmental strides across Ogun West and the entire state. Speaking from the United States during an exclusive virtual interview with Abu-Satar Hamed of StarTrend Int’l Magazine, High Chief Ilo commended Senator Adeola for delivering tangible, people-centered projects that have significantly improved the lives of residents.
High Chief Ilo revealed that his recent visit to Nigeria for the 2025 Oronna Ilaro Festival left him “deeply amazed” by the remarkable changes he witnessed, ranging from modern township roads and newly built school classrooms to ICT centres, renovated healthcare facilities with advanced medical equipment, upgraded police stations, and vibrant recreational centres.

High Chief Ilo revealed this from his base in the United States during a recent online interview with Abu-Satar Hamed of StarTrend Int’l Magazine and its online platform.
The retired banker explained that he was deeply impressed by the level of development he witnessed upon returning from the United States for the 2025 Oronna Ilaro Festival.
“I’m indeed overwhelmed by the people-oriented projects I saw – township roads, newly constructed classrooms across schools in Ogun West, ICT centres, renovated hospitals equipped with sophisticated facilities, police stations, and recreational centres”, he said.
High Chief Ilo added that beneficiaries of various training and empowerment programmes also testified to Senator Adeola’s impactful initiatives.
The US-based traditional chief expressed delight at Senator Adeola Yayi’s achievements within just over two years of representing Ogun West, noting that his performance leaves no doubt that he would excel if elected Governor of Ogun State in 2027, God willing.
Responding to a question, the Adele Olu of Ilaro stated that although he has not yet had a one-on-one discussion with Senator Yayi – whom he described as very accessible – but looks forward to meeting him when the opportunity arises.
High Chief Ilo urged the people of Ogun West and Ogun State to recognize and support the God-given potential in Senator Adeola Yayi by rallying behind his 2027 gubernatorial ambition.
He further revealed that he, his wife, and other like-minded Ogun State indigenes in the United States are already encouraging fellow citizens abroad not only to return home to vote for Yayi, but also to promote his candidacy ahead of the 2025 election.
High Chief Ilo also urged citizens to remain security conscious – monitoring their surroundings and promptly reporting suspicious individuals or activities to the appropriate authorities.
