FLAG OFFICER COMMANDING WESTERN NAVAL COMMAND PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO OGUN STATE GOVERNOR

On Tuesday 21 January 2025, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mike Gregory Oamen paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The aim of the visit was to introduce himself on assumption of Command.

In his remarks, the FOC explained the importance of Ogun State being a transit gateway to other parts of the country. Furthermore, the FOC reaffirmed Nigerian Navy’s (NN) commitment to support in terms of security as the State plans to develop a deep sea port in Ogun Waterside LGA. Finally, the FOC said the NN, in conjunction with the State will continue with the plan to set up a Naval Dockyard and a base at Ode-Omi in Ogun Waterside LGA.

The Governor appreciated the FOC for the visit and explained the deep relationship that existed between Ogun State and the NN in the area of security as it embarked on developing its maritime infrastructure and oil & gas resources. Lastly, the Governor thanked the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla for showing commitment to Ogun State’s economic development and support for its future prosperity.
