…..No going back on action against Lagos lawmakers – Obasa
The Lagos State House of Assembly at plenary on Monday passed a vote of confidence on Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
The lawmakers all commended the speaker on the way he has been running the affairs of the House which has been going through some crisis since last week due to the removal of two principal officers and suspension of two other members.
They also condemned the petition written against the Speaker by Comrade Buna Isiak to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, saying it was baseless.
The lawmakers also said they all agreed at parliamentary that they needed a Toyota Prado Jeep as against a smaller car, Toyota Fortuna proposed by the Speaker.
Meanwhile, Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Obasa has declared there was no going back on the removal of two principal officers and suspension of two other lawmakers.
He also said there was no more need for the Hon. Ibrahim Layode committee set up over the weekend to resolve the impasse with the affected lawmakers.
Obasa said this was because of publications on the crisis over the weekend, especially the interview with the removed Chief Whip, Hon. Rotimi Abiru published in the Punch over the weekend.
