RT. HON. (DR) MUDASHIRU AJAYI OBASA: A LIGHT THAT KEEPS SHINING
To start with, it is difficult to meet the Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and not see the inherent greatness and leadership charisma that manifests in him. A man who is not only a friend of the people, but also embraces an all-inclusive pattern of leadership.
Obasa has shown time and time again that he is not just a politician by chance, but one who has studied and mastered the ropes to the fullest. When you have a mastery of the game, then it is difficult to be distracted or deterred by what can be heard to be a mere “market noise”, the best possible effort of detractors.
Quite ironically, in any and every clime, it is almost impossible to step into politics without the expectations of having to cope with naysayers, bitter opposition, wailers and hyenas. What is however laughable is the thought that a politician like Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, one who has grown through the ranks of politics, right from the base level to become the Speaking Speaker of Lagos State, the number one Legislator in the state, would be perturbed by the comic efforts of the aforementioned groups.
Personally, I would advice that critics across board get a lot more constructive with their criticisms. Constructive criticisms are always welcome as they would continue to put our public office holders on their toes and point them towards things that could be done and improved on, I can confirm that the Speaker is even always gratefully excited about constructive criticisms as it helps him to be a better politician and be of optimal performance and service in office to the people.
What makes zero sense is constant chattering, baseless bantering and name calling of people merely because they hold a public office that you feel entitled to. At every level, it is always counterproductive! And in the case of the Lagos State Speaker, it is a continued effort in futility.
Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa is a man of the people, a canvasser for the youths and an unrelenting progressive. Many of these and more earns him a massive followership. At the end of the day, everybody has a role to play in governance and what is important is that everybody continues to play their role well. Let the naysayers continue to play their role while the Speaking Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa continues to play his role.
God bless the Speaker.
God bless Lagos State.
God bless Nigeria.
